Chartreuse de Bonpas
A 12th century fortified convent donated to the Order of Carthusian monks by Pope Jean XXII in 1318. It is located on the border between the Comtat Venaissin and Provence at a strategic crossing point of the Durance river (hence the name "Bonpas" or "Bon Passage"). Firm Louis Bernard is setting up here at the end of year 2003, with the projet to open more this historical place to the public and to make it a place where everyone can discover the Rhone river valley, its wines and its history.
