Château de Fénelon
Situated in the Valley of the Dordogne between Sarlat and Souillac. Fénelon, set in unspoled countryside above the village, is one of the most beautiful castle in Perigord Noir.
Its fortress-like appearance is a pleasing combination of medieval militiarisim and Renaissance beauty. It still looks as it did then, with its triple enclosure.
Built on series of rocky terraces, its defensive system has remained intact. It is one of the rare historic buildings in Sarlat area to still have a stome roof.
There is a fine collection of arms and armour, together with some beautiful furniture and objects dating from the 15th and 18th centuries.
