Field of Chaalis is a witness of the life of Nélie Jacquemart-André, who owned it from 1902 to 1912 before bequeathing it to the Institut de France. And her life was passions : painting, discovering, choosing and collecting unique pieces.
In the vast chateau, witch was a wing of the cloister projected in the 18th century by the great architect Jean Aubert, are gathered pieces of furniture, paintings and antic pieces.
At the first floor, the gallery furnished with gothic trunks as well as busts made by Gagini, Coysevox, Pajou, etc.
