Tariffs and Opening days :

Guided visits : every day from the 9th of July to the 1st of September, from 2 pm to 6:30 pm.
Group visits (15 people minimum) : on request all the year.
A visit lasts approximately 45 minutes. Guided tours of exterior and interior of the manor.
Adults : 5 Euros. Students : 4 Euros. Young people : 3,50 Euros. Less than 7 years : free.
Groups : 4 Euros/adult. 3 Euros/young people.

Description :

What was the rĂ´le of a breton manor during the Middle Ages?
How was living in it? What were its functions, its economic, penal, or defence systems?

By visiting the Plessis Josso, we offer to you a small trip through the ages, from the 14th to the 17th centuries,
to discover the Bretons life in the Vannes country looked back in the Brittany and French history...

During the external visit of the visit, you will be able to understand:
- The distribution of tasks in it: protection, housing, services,
- The seigniorial power, symbolized by size and wealthy mark,
- Its development through the ages, visible through the various architectural styles: Gothic, Renaissance, classical...

Inside the manor, you will discover:
- The allocation of inhabited space
- The collective rooms: high room, lower hall,
- The private rooms: bedrooms, three kitchens, cellars.
you will appreciate, in particular, the development of culinary practices with its suitable equipment: medieval cuisine, supply cooking, renaissance cuisine, baker's oven...

Following the visit, you will be able to stroll around the manor, and why not, to discover its outbuildings: the three courtyards, the loft and its threshing floor, the water mill and its pond, the established forest...

During summer, the Plessis Josso organizes other temporary activities (concerts, exhibitions...).
