Description :

Majestic with its decorated fairy-like roofs of allegorical ridge tiles the medieval castle (13th - 15th centuries), qith its "Renaissance" style windows witch are about to erase its defensive aspects (covered way, watch towers...) became the residence of Marquis de Jumilhac, "lieutenant-Generals" of the Kings Armies during the 17th and 18th centuries.

In this room decorated with mural frescos, the Ropemaker (Louise de Hautefort) was locked up by her jealous husband, Antoine II de Jumilhac, as to give birth to a legend : "the Ropemaker spun wool there during 30 years without never being able to evade".

Leaned at the kitchen lit by remarkable kitchen ustensils, the dining room is arched and recalls by its furniture and its architecture transition between the Dark Ages and "Century of the Lights" (18th century).
